Jono writes about booze and tattoos for Next Luxury, having spent nearly two decades experiencing both in a variety of situations around the globe. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing) from the University of Canberra and a Graduate Diploma of Professional Writing from Deakin University.

Jono joined Next Luxury in January 2020 after spending the balance of 20 years developing professional skills in writing and communication, copy writing, public speaking, critical research and reporting, and creative content development and curation.
Ink
Jono has collected in excess of 30 tattoos covering more than half of his body during the past 20 years, with total time spent in ‘the chair’ in excess of 150 hours.
He’s received knowledge and advice from a range of talented and renowned tattoo artists, getting inked in countries such as: Australia, Canada, Spain, Argentina, Thailand, the Netherlands, The United States, and Singapore, while developing a network of fellow ink collectors and adventure travelers from all around the world.
In addition to his work writing for NextLuxury, Jono is developing The Tattoo History and Culture Podcast and researching the issue of visible tattoo stigma in the workplace.
Education and Experience
Jono holds a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing and Psychology from the University of Canberra and has completed a Graduate Diploma in Professional Writing from Deakin University, Melbourne.
He began his career as a rugby league journalist for the Australian NRL before moving into marketing, conferences, and events production.
Jono spent two stints teaching English to Foreign Learners in Japan and Thailand, before becoming a travel agent, tomato farmer, and now stay at home parent to two small children.
