Val Kilmer Tells His Life Story in the Upcoming Documentary ‘Val’

Val Kilmer is a film legend. From his iconic roles as Jim Morrison in Oliver Stone’s The Doors, Batman in Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever, and Iceman in the Tony Scott classic Top Gun, Kilmer has shined on the big screen for decades. But now, after battling severe throat cancer over the past few years, he’s finally ready to tell his own story.

Val has been composed from over 40 years of Kilmer’s own personal home videos. “I was the first guy I knew to own a video camera…” the actor says in the trailer for his upcoming documentary. He goes on to talk about his battle with throat cancer, how he is “still recovering,” and that it’s hard for him to talk and even harder for him to be understood.
