Born Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy in Florida in 1998, XXXTentacion was one of the biggest rappers in the game when he was killed in a shooting. The talented artist caught the attention of the youth with this rhymes detailing his struggles with depression, anxiety, and feelings of alienation. With his beats a unique blend of genres matched by his lyrics exploring mental health, XXXTentacion gained a cult following on the internet. His career took off in 2013 when he began creating his own music on SoundCloud.
While praised for his vulnerability, there was another darker side to the famous rapper. He often had violent outbursts and behaved erratically as he struggled with his mental health. XXXTentacion frequently found himself in legal trouble for various reasons, with his ex-girlfriend, Geneva Ayala, claiming he was physically abusive towards her and threatened to commit suicide on multiple occasions.
Sadly XXXTentacion could never get the help he needed. On June 18, 2018, Micheal Boatwright murdered XXXTentacion in the Florida Riva Motorsports Motorcycle & Marine Superstore parking lot. Doctors pronounced XXXTentacion dead at the hospital. Boatwright and his accomplices, Dedrick Williams and Trayvon Newsome, received life in prison, while Robert Allen received a reduced sentence for testifying against his cohorts.
Aside from his controversial persona and groundbreaking music, XXXTentacion was famous for his distinct tattoos covering his entire body. Each tattoo was significant to the late rapper as you will find out below.

1. “Alone” Tattoo
XXXTentacion inked the word “alone” above his left eyebrow. He struggled with severe depression and possibly abandonment issues. Alienation is also a common theme in his music. He once said, “I am going to die alone and live most of my life alone. Nobody will completely know you or what you want.”
2. “Wing Ridden Angel” Tattoo
On XXXTentacion’s outer right arm, he tattooed the phrase “wing ridden angel.” He described the phrase as a human that’s angel-like but doesn’t have wings. After XXXTentacion’s tragic murder, fellow rapper Denzel Curry got the same tattoo as a tribute to his friend.
3. “WRAC” Tattoo
From 2013 to 2015, XXXTentacion was in a relationship with Cinthia Perez. XXXTentacion showed his love and feelings for her by tattooing WRAC on his left hand above his knuckles. It stands for “Wing Ridden Angel Cinthia.”
4. “17” Tattoo
One of XXXTentacion’s most significant tattoos is the number “17” on the right-hand corner of his forehead. This was the name of his debut album which reached number 2 on the US Billboard 200. More importantly, age 17 was the first time he felt like he had a broken heart.
5. “Bad Vibes Fvr” Tattoo
On his inner left forearm, XXXTentacion tattooed the phrase “bad vibes fvr.” Inspired by the group Teen Suicide, XXXTentacion started a movement known as Bad Vibes Fvr. In 2018, his family and record label released the posthumous album Bad Vibes Forever, featuring appearances from Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, and Blink 182.

As he explained, “When you see someone, and you immediately judge them, those aren’t the people that I wanna attract. 7. “Numb” Tattoo
The distinct red word “numb” is inked just below XXXTentacion’s right eye. It’s easily one of the most painful spots on the body to get a tattoo, which is precisely why he wanted the word “numb” in that location. When discussing his famous “numb” tattoo, XXXTentacion noted he felt numb as a child. He said, “I got this when I was younger as I felt I couldn’t feel.”
8. 2 Sets of 3 Dots
Above XXXTentacion’s right eye, he inked two sets of three dots. He went on social media to explain to his fans the meaning behind his most unique tattoo. He described it as “The Beginning, The Rise, and The Peak.” Following XXXTentacion’s tragic murder, media personality and rapper Danielle Bregoli, aka Bhad Bhabie, tattooed the word “numb” with three dots as a tribute to XXXTentacion.
9. “VR” Tattoo
After getting in trouble as a youngster, XXXTentacion spent some time in a juvenile correction center. It was here he met his friend and collaborator Ski Mask the Slump God. They were the founders of the hip-hop collective Members Only. Also known as the Very Rare all-stars, XXXTentacion tattooed “VR” on the right side of his abs as a tribute to the group.
10. “VR” With Dots Tattoo
XXXTentacion worked closely with Members Only, which became a defining moment of his career. He paid tribute to the collective with a second tattoo. On the inner side of his left forearm, XXXTentacion inked the group’s alternative name, Very Rare, represented with” VR” and three dots.

11. “Rare” Tattoo
XXXTentacion’s time with Members Only had such a profound impact on him that he got a third tribute to the hip-hop collective. He tattooed the word “rare” along his four fingers on his right hand.

The world-renowned Tragedy and Comedy masks are a famous symbol of ancient Greek theatre and Greek mythology. XXXTentacion inked a tattoo of the well-known theatre masks on his upper right arm, possibly alluding to the tragedy he had experienced in his own life.

On his right bicep, XXXTentacion tattooed a crescent moon. It was no secret that he was fascinated by the occult and Wicca religion. In Wicca, the crescent moon symbolizes “The Mother, The Maiden, and The Crone,” representing the life cycle and passage of time.

It seemed that XXXTentacion was always running away from his problems throughout his career. He inked “run” on his fourth finger. As a tribute to the late rapper, his friend Wifisfuneral tattooed a broken heart and the word “alone” on his face.
20. Cleopatra and Aiden Tattoos
XXXTentacion had a tough childhood but had a close bond with his mother. He never blamed her for his rough upbringing. He even inked his mother’s name, “Cleopatra,” across his upper chest to show his love for her. XXXTentacion also tattooed his brother’s name, Aiden, on his inner right forearm.

21. “Cry Baby” Tattoo
XXXTentacion shared the “crybaby” tattoo with another late rapper, Lil Peep. Lil Peep referred to it as a reminder to always be grateful in a sad world. XXXTentacion never discussed the meaning behind it but more than likely felt the same.
